New Zealand Legislators Serenade Gay Marriage Amendment into Law
~ This is so effing beautiful. Last week New Zealand became the thirteenth country to legalize gay marriage after their Parliament voted 77 to 44 to amend their 1955 marriage laws. Upon the formal announcement, many people in the crowd as well as some of the lawmakers spontaneously burst into song, singing the traditional Māori love song Pokarekare Ana. Don’t you just love those Kiwis?
