3D Puppets? Who would have ever thunk it? ~ As a puppeteer this seems utterly ridiculous and disconnected from reality. Puppets ability to connect with an audience is their greatest strength, this idea of 3D projected puppets misses the whole point. I’m glad the Muppet legacy continues, but I have my doubts that a company the size of Disney can make something as human as what Henson gave us.

RIP Jerry Nelson, One! Great Puppeteer, a ha ha ha

Jerry Nelson as Gobo,

~ Nelson died yesterday at the age of 78. He was an accomplished puppeteer and singer and was one of the original Muppets. He voiced dozens of Muppets and at one point was Rowlf the Dog’s right hand. On the Muppet Show he played Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Robin the Frog, and Camilla the Chicken. On Fraggle Rock he was the lead Fraggle, Gobo. And on Sesame Street he was the original Mr. Snuffleupagus, Sherlock Hemlock, and probably helped teach you to count as the Count von Count.
